A Level 2 RICS Survey, formerly known as a Home Buyer Survey or Report, is a detailed inspection conducted by a qualified surveyor who is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). Also known as 'Rebuild Valuations,' a reinstatement cost assessment is a careful calculation undertaken following a measured survey which produces a figure for how much it would cost you to rebuild your property from scratch. Why would you need to know this? These figures are used for building insurance purposes and an accurate figure will ensure your property is adequately insured.
The RICS and most insurance providers recommend a full reinstatement cost assessment is undertaken every three years with an adjustment made annually as necessary.
